Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 11 May 2026

Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before submitting your details through our contact form. By ticking the acceptance box and submitting the form, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not submit the form.

1. About Us

This website ("Finding Therapy", "we", "us", or "our") is operated by Finding Therapy Ltd, a limited company registered in the United Kingdom. Our role is to help visitors find and connect with independent therapists and counselling services.

We are not a therapy provider. We do not deliver clinical care, diagnosis, treatment, or supervision. Any therapeutic relationship that follows from your enquiry is a private arrangement between you and the therapist you choose to contact.

2. Nature of the Service

The contact form allows you to send your name, contact details, and a short message so that we, or a therapist you have selected, can reach out to you. By submitting the form you understand that:

  • The information you provide is self-reported and will be relied on at face value.
  • We do not verify the identity of the person submitting the form.
  • A response is not guaranteed within any specific timeframe.
  • Submitting the form does not create a therapist-client relationship.

3. Not a Crisis or Emergency Service

Finding Therapy is not an emergency service. If you are in immediate danger, experiencing a mental health crisis, or having thoughts of suicide or self-harm, please do not rely on the contact form. Instead, contact your local emergency services or a 24/7 crisis line:

  • Samaritans: 116 123, free at any hour
  • NHS 111 (choose the mental health option): urgent help that is not an emergency
  • 999 or A&E: if you or someone else is in immediate danger

If you are outside the UK, please contact your nearest emergency service.

4. No Medical Advice

Content on this website, including any information shared in response to your enquiry, is for general informational purposes only. It is not medical, psychological, or clinical advice and should not be used as a substitute for professional consultation, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of a qualified health provider regarding any condition or treatment.

5. Eligibility

By submitting the contact form you confirm that you are:

  • At least 18 years of age, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian; and
  • Submitting your own information, or have the explicit permission of the person whose details you are entering.

6. Information You Provide

You agree that any information you submit through the contact form is:

  • Accurate and provided in good faith;
  • Not misleading, abusive, defamatory, or unlawful; and
  • Yours to share, or shared with the permission of the person it concerns.

You are responsible for the content of any free-text message you send. Please do not include sensitive personal data (for example, full clinical history, financial details, or third-party private information) beyond what is necessary to make an initial enquiry.

7. How We Use Your Information

Your submission will be used to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to put you in touch with a suitable therapist. We handle your personal data in line with our Privacy Policy, which you should also read.

We will not sell your information, and we will not share it beyond what is reasonably necessary to fulfil your request.

8. Listings and Third-Party Therapists

Where the site lists or refers to therapists or other third-party practitioners:

  • Listings are provided for convenience and do not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, or guarantee of any particular outcome.
  • It is your responsibility to verify a therapist's qualifications, registration, insurance, and suitability before engaging their services.
  • We are not responsible for the conduct, advice, fees, availability, or services of any third-party therapist.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Finding Therapy Ltd and its directors, employees, and contributors will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special loss or damage arising from:

  • Your use of, or inability to use, the website or contact form;
  • Reliance on any information provided through the site or in response to your enquiry;
  • Any interaction with a therapist or third party found via this site; or
  • Delays, errors, or failures in transmission of your submission.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, design, graphics, and logos, is owned by or licensed to Finding Therapy Ltd and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may view and print pages for your personal, non-commercial use, but you may not reproduce, republish, or redistribute any content without our prior written permission.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision. Continued use of the site or contact form after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of United Kingdom.
