20 years helping children and young people feel heard and supported. Warm, creative psychotherapy helping young people explore emotions, build confidence and thrive.
Before qualifying as a therapist, Amelia spent ten years supporting neurodivergent children and young people in community settings, which remains an important part of her therapeutic practice. She's also worked within charities supporting children and young people affected by domestic violence, abuse and other challenging life experiences.
In her private practice, she works with children and young people experiencing a range of emotional and personal difficulties, including anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, friendship and peer difficulties, parental separation and the impact of traumatic experiences. She offers a warm, creative, compassionate space where young people can feel heard, understood and supported to make sense of their experiences and develop greater confidence.
As an Art Psychotherapist, Amelia offers a warm, creative and person-centred approach, adapting therapy to each child or young person. She uses creative tools to help explore feelings and experiences that can be difficult to put into words. This might include doodling while talking, creating artwork or gently exploring what an image means to them. Amelia is led by the young person, allowing them to work at their own pace and build a trusting therapeutic relationship where, together, they can begin to make sense of what the young person may be struggling with.
