Works with ages 16+
Edward is an experienced, accredited counselling therapist with years of experience supporting adolescents and young adults across the UK and internationally.
Edward has over half a decade of experience working online and in-person with adolescents and young adults. He strives to help young people feel heard and understood as they navigate challenges and work toward meaningful change. Clients often describe him as youthful, professional and supportive. He is experienced in working with anxiety, depression, anger, and trauma, to name a few. In his spare time, Edward is an ocean enthusiast, avid reader, and enjoys playing music.
Edward primarily uses CBT to help young people understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and develop practical strategies for change. His work is grounded in person-centred values, creating a trusting, respectful and non-judgemental space. Where appropriate, he also draws on narrative and trauma-informed approaches, and tailors sessions to each individual, working to support emotional understanding, learn and strengthen coping skills, and build confidence in managing life’s challenges and transitions.
Integrative
The therapist draws on several approaches, adapting to what suits each young person rather than following one method.
Person-centred
The young person leads the conversation while the therapist listens without judgement, helping them find their own way forward.
CBT (Cognitive behavioural therapy)
Practical, structured work on the patterns of thinking and behaviour that keep problems going.
Trauma-informed
Works at the young person's pace with an understanding of how difficult experiences affect the mind and body.
Narrative therapy
Helps young people retell the story of their difficulties in a way that separates the problem from who they are.
Motivational interviewing
A collaborative style that helps young people find their own reasons to make a change.
