Why we started Finding Therapy
Finding Therapy is online counselling for ages 6 to 25, founded by Elliot Agro and Helen Spiers. They’re the former CEO and Head of Counselling at Mable Therapy, one of the UK’s most established online counselling services for children and young people.

Who we are
In 2025, we set out on our own to build something new, taking everything we’d learned and doing it better. That meant a small team we know personally, a counsellor you choose yourself, and no subscription: you pay for the sessions that happen.
Helen Spiers is our Head of Counselling. She was a teacher for 15 years before retraining as a therapist, she then spent years leading a counselling team. She’s an accredited member of the BACP, and a mum of two.
Elliot Agro is our CEO. He’s led companies for over ten years and was an early pioneer of online therapy for children and young people.
Between us we’ve worked with hundreds of counsellors over the years, so we know exactly what makes a great one. That is the judgement this whole service rests on.
We’ve worked alongside every counsellor here for years, so we can vouch for how they work, not just what their CV says.
how we choose
How we choose our counsellors
Every counsellor here is qualified, experienced and registered with a UK professional body. For us those are the minimum, not the reason we chose them. What decides it is how they connect with a young person, and how they make sure the parent feels heard.
Small on purpose
No one can just sign up and appear here. Everyone on the team is someone we know personally, and we’d rather stay small than list people we don’t.
Checked, and checked again
Qualified and experienced, with no trainees. Registered with the BACP or NCPS, enhanced DBS checked, insured, and in regular supervision.
Different people for different children
Our counsellors specialise in different things and suit different young people. Every profile shows how they work and who they work best with, so you can see who might suit your child.
There’s good evidence behind choosing this way. In therapy with children and young people, the relationship with the counsellor predicts how well it goes, and it matters at least as much as the type of therapy used1.

“Every counsellor here is qualified and experienced, but all of our team also have that special something that connects with young people when they need it most.”

Our counsellors
Our team is deliberately small. Between them, our counsellors work with children, teenagers and young adults up to 25, in areas including anxiety, depression, bereavement, ADHD and autism, and school avoidance. Parents have rated us 5.0 across 133 reviews, independently verified by Reviews.io.
- Every counsellor carefully vetted
- Known to us personally
- Safeguarding-trained

You can talk to Helen first
Would you like a hand choosing?
The first step is just a conversation.
You’ll speak with Helen, the person who chose our counsellors. She’ll ask about your child, suggest who might suit them, and tell you honestly if she thinks something else would serve you better. No pressure, no commitment.
