Gillian is a warm and friendly children's therapist. She uses creative approaches and has experience working in schools, charities, online spaces and private practice.
Gillian is a qualified children’s therapist with a background in art and creativity. She has experience supporting children and young people across schools, private practice, creative online spaces and charitable organisations. She works with challenges including anxiety, bereavement, self-esteem, managing emotions and identity.
Her core training is in Play Therapy, using creativity, drawing, games and young people’s interests to help them communicate and explore their experiences when words can feel difficult.
Outside of work, she enjoys writing therapeutic storybooks, spending time with family and walking her three little dogs.
For Gillian, creating a safe and trusting relationship is at the heart of therapy. She is friendly, warm, and led by the young person, taking time to understand how they experience the world and what helps them feel comfortable.
As a play therapist, Gillian uses creative activities within the interactive online space, giving young people different ways to communicate and explore what they are experiencing. She follows their interests as a starting point, helping them express thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to put into words and develop a better understanding of themselves.
